The Dean and Chapter are delighted to announce the appointments of the new Director of Music for Brecon Cathedral, Mr David Stevens and the new Assistant Director of Music Mr Matthew McVey.

He is also an elected Associate of the Royal Academy of Music. David brings with him considerable experience as an organist and choir conductor, and we look forward to welcoming him to this challenging role in September.

David said, ‘I'm absolutely delighted to be joining the Brecon Cathedral team, and I am looking forward to getting to know everyone. During the interview process, I was struck by the warm welcome from staff and choir, and I'm grateful to have been chosen to be part of such a close-knit community. Music has been an integral part of Brecon Cathedral's worship for centuries, and I'm excited about developing this area of the cathedral's life. My wife and I are also really looking forward to exploring the beautiful surroundings with our son and our dog!’
