Holy Week & Easter 2026

  • Brecon Cathedral Cathedral Close Brecon, Wales, LD3 9DP United Kingdom (map)

Holy Week at Brecon Cathedral is a time of solemn reflection, prayer and communal worship, marking the final days of Jesus’s life, his death and his resurrection. The Cathedral community gathers across the week for services that move from the sombre observances of Maundy Thursday and Good Friday to the joyful celebration of Easter Day.

The Cathedral provides opportunities for private prayer, and pastoral conversation throughout Holy Week. Visitors and local residents are encouraged to use the Cathedral as a space for quiet meditation, mindful of the Christian story of suffering, hope and renewal.

Holy Week and Easter invite both contrition and celebration. The journey from the cross to the empty tomb speaks to themes of loss, service, transformation and hope. All are welcome to join the Cathedral community in these observances, to remember with sorrow, to pray with expectation, and to rejoice in the promise of new life
