the New Dean of Brecon

Brecon Cathedral is delighted to share the appointment of the Rev’d Dr Adrian Morgan as the new Dean of Brecon

Dr Morgan, currently Vicar of St Catherine’s, Gorseinon, and St David’s, Loughor, returns to the Cathedral where he was ordained. His ministry across the diocese has been marked by pastoral warmth, steady leadership, and a commitment to helping churches grow in confidence and faith.

He described his appointment as “…a great honour and privilege to be invited to serve as Dean of Brecon. My faith and vocation have been nurtured within this diocese, and Brecon Cathedral has been part of that journey for many years. It was there that I was ordained deacon and priest, and throughout my ministry it has remained a place of prayer, encouragement and inspiration. I have a deep affection for the people of this diocese and a strong sense of gratitude for all that I have received from them. Over many years, I have been encouraged by the faith, generosity and commitment of clergy and lay people across Swansea and Brecon, and I look forward to serving them in this new role."

Announcing the appointment, Bishop John said, "His hard work and dedication, alongside the people and clergy of the Llwchwr Ministry Area, has borne great fruit over the years he has served, and the completion of the project at the church hall and the healthy growth of congregations under his care will be a fitting legacy of his service there. We look forward to this new chapter in Adrian's ministry in the mother church of the diocese.”

Dr Morgan will be joined in Brecon by his wife Clare, and their daughters, Elena and Betsan.

Details of the installation service to follow.
